Feast of the Guardian Angels

Gospel
Mt 18:1-5, 10

The disciples approached Jesus and said,
“Who is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven?”
He called a child over, placed it in their midst, and said,
“Amen, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children,
you will not enter the Kingdom of heaven.
Whoever humbles himself like this child
is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven.
And whoever receives one child such as this in my name receives me.

“See that you do not despise one of these little ones,
for I say to you that their angels in heaven
always look upon the face of my heavenly Father.”

Do you remember the Guardian Angel Prayer?

Angel of God
Angel of God, my Guardian dear,
to whom His love commits me here,
ever this day (or night) be at my side,
to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen.

One thing I learned not to long ago from a priest I know, was that during times of temptations, to not forget this prayer!   Our Guardian Angels can help us, especially with thoughts, actions, etc.

From New Advent:

Guardian Angel

(See also FEAST OF THE GUARDIAN ANGELS.)

That every individual soul has a guardian angel has never been defined by the Church, and is, consequently, not an article of faith; but it is the “mind of the Church“, as St. Jerome expressed it: “how great the dignity of the soul, since each one has from his birth an angel commissioned to guard it.” (Comm. in Matt., xviii, lib. II).

And don’t forget, especially Moms and Dads, to say a prayer to your children’s guardian angel when they are traveling OR you are having an especially difficult time with them!
